Thrash Mob to release Hate, Rage And A Whole Lotta Killin’ on November 20th.
Hailing from the West Midlands region of the UK, Thrash Mob are a brand-new face on the thrash metal underground. Despite only making their live debut in January of this year, the five piece have already appeared at the Bloodstock Festival and supported the likes of irrepressible Aussies King Parrot and British thrash institution Solitary. With their live performances picking up rave reviews from respected media sources like The Moshville Times and The Razor’s Edge, Thrash Mob have decided that the time is right to unleash their debut EP, a five song feast of exuberant energy and ferocious thrash that goes by the name of Hate, Rage And A Whole Lotta Killin’!
‘Justice Is Done’ gets things underway with its crisp, biting guitars delivering a measured, methodical crunch to accompany the ultra-aggressive vocals. Eschewing the obvious route of wild, flailing speed this opening track makes sure that every riff counts and lands with bone breaking force. Next up, ‘Tortured Beyond Death’ brings a dark edge to the atmosphere and the vocals reach throat-ripping levels of intensity before a sweetly constructed and ruthlessly executed guitar solo tears through the heart of the song like a scythe. ‘Written In Blood’ follows in initially foreboding fashion before exploding into a frantic, furious attack – a timely injection of rabid velocity. But this song has a lot more to say, growing into something of a multifaceted epic. It’s left to ‘The Executioner’ with its tumbling guitar motifs, menacing melody, grinding riffs and massive bass presence to lead us into the final straight, where ‘Bring The Purge’ awaits. A climactic conclusion, ‘Bring The Purge’ combines ringing chords and doom-tinged chugs with an old school speed metal feel and some flesh-ripping riffs – headbanging is mandatory! Hate, Rage And A Whole Lotta Killin’ is an accomplished and effective first fusillade that sees Thrash Mob hurtling towards the top table of UK thrash. Their incredible rise through the ranks is seemingly unstoppable!
Produced and mixed by the band’s own Alfie Bennett, Hate, Rage And A Whole Lotta Killin’ sounds compact and uncluttered, confrontational and aggressive without descending into chaos - every snarl, burst of rapid-fire guitar and rhythm section rumble is there to be savoured. Adorned in some superbly evocative fantasy artwork courtesy of Apocalyptic Nuke at Bleak Thy Dismal Grafik (Enforcer, Crystal Viper, Total Invasion etc) Hate, Rage And A Whole Lotta Killin’ will be unleashed on November 20th – be ready to face ‘The Executioner’!
