Conceptualised in 2023, Arc Of Dyad is the creative brainchild of Simon Lukic (lyrics, music, guitar, bass, and vocals). With a sound that’s heavy, honest and transparent, Arc Of Dyad isn't interested in chasing trends. “Arc Of Dyad exists because I have something real to say and metal has always been the purest way to say it,” says Lukic.

Arc Of Dyad - ‘The Work Of Idle Hands’

Written by Luxi Lahtinen

Emerging from the savage lands of Melbourne, Australia, one-man project Arc of Dyad comes forward with debut The Work of Idle Hands, which is all about raw, no-frills blackened heavy metal that prioritizes emotional honesty over technical excess and trend chasing. Across its seven tracks, this is an album that thrives on unpolished grit. From the opening drive of "Borrowed Time" to the closing intensity of "Universe," the music on display is bluntly expressive and unapologetically direct, all supported by a production that's far from overproduced yet sharp enough to let every riff and vocal line hit with serious weight. Sole member Simon Lukic is a solid instrumentalist, but it's his vocals that steal the show with a raw urgency that reinforces the album's themes of rage, resilience, and personal reckoning. As a debut, it's surprisingly restrained in that it's less interested in doing everything at once and more establishing a cohesive, intense, and sincere central foundation, and with how many are becoming more obsessed with polished, impersonal perfection, I consider this a big mark in its favor. A solid debut from a project with strong potential.
