Dimension Of The Abandoned announce the release of their self titled debut album, a progressive melodic blackened heavy metal journey that fuses atmosphere, aggression and classic heavy metal songwriting. The album will be released digitally and on vinyl on November 21, 2025, with pre-orders and early access available via the band’s Bandcamp page.

The first glimpse into this new universe arrived with the official lyric video for the single “Journey To The Ethereal”, now streaming on YouTube. The video introduces the band’s blend of progressive structures, melodic and atmospheric blackened textures, and the strong hooks and emotional pull of traditional heavy metal, all framed by a dark, introspective mood.

“After leaving Niviane, I wanted to prove to them and to myself that the songs I had written, which were rejected, really were the next step forward and could connect with metal fans of any style,” says guitarist, bassist and composer Rick Stallkamp. “The main goal with Dimension is to write songs that last, pieces that mix different metal worlds but still feel unified and honest.”

Conceived in 2022 by Stallkamp in Sacramento, Dimension Of The Abandoned grew out of a desire for complete creative freedom. Having spent years writing, touring and recording in Niviane, Rick used the transition period to sharpen his skills as a producer and mixer, taking full control of how his music should sound and feel. Early demos were shaped with the help of his son RJ Stallkamp, whose guitar ideas would later become an integral part of the album.

The missing piece arrived when Rick discovered Ophidian Memory, the extreme metal project of Blake Lamoureux, through a random YouTube recommendation. Drawn in by the songwriting and multi instrumental approach, Rick reached out, sending an early version of “Journey To The Ethereal” and an invitation to join the new project. Blake’s response was immediate. His expressive vocals and lead guitar work completed the creative core of Dimension Of The Abandoned, transforming it from a solo idea into a fully realized band.

“We invite you to enjoy the debut album from Dimension Of The Abandoned,” the band state. “This project brings together our shared love for progressive metal, melodic and atmospheric blackened metal, and the timeless feel of classic heavy metal. Our hope is that listeners from across all metal genres can find something in these songs that speaks to them.”

Across six tracks, Dimension Of The Abandoned moves through soaring melodies, intricate arrangements and shadow drenched atmospheres. From the expansive journey of “Journey To The Ethereal” to the towering riffs of “The Onyx Tower” and the emotional weight of “Touch Of The Meaningless”, the album is built around strong structures, memorable themes and a focus on replay value rather than trends. This is metal written for listeners who want depth, dynamics and songs that reward repeated listens.

Sonically, the record balances clarity and power, allowing every layer to breathe. The album was produced and mixed by Rick Stallkamp, with mastering handled by Dan Spencer (Audio Sorcerer). The visual identity is equally striking, featuring the artwork “Corruption” by Chris Cold and logo and graphic design by Luciferium War Graphics, which together capture the album’s sense of twilight, abandoned realms and inner conflict.

Although Dimension Of The Abandoned avoid direct “sounds like” comparisons, the music will resonate with fans who appreciate progressive metal ambition, melodic and atmospheric blackened metal, and the emotional pull of classic heavy metal, all delivered with a modern, introspective edge.

With the debut album now set for release, Dimension Of The Abandoned step forward as a new voice in contemporary metal, intent on carving out their own space and inviting listeners to enter their world.
