The self-titled album by Atlantic Ridge is an exploration of remote lands and forgotten geographies, on the thin border between reality and myth. Blending elements of atmospheric black metal and funeral doom metal passages, the record evokes alternatively rich atmospheres and desolate soundscapes.

Across its tracks, “Atlantic Ridge” describes incredible places, surrounded by a sense of mystery, like a utopian journey through time and space. Music-wise, highly atmospheric black metal riffs collide with violent yet melodic slowdowns, framed by a constant sense

of awe and detachment. While rooted in the extremity of underground metal, the album recalls the immersive spirit of bands like Wolves in the Throne Room or Altar of Plagues, combined with the majestic heaviness of early Ahab.

Recorded in Italy between 2019 and 2024, “Atlantic Ridge” represents both a physical

and spiritual journey: a descent into the unknown, chasing the idea of reaching to the world’s farthest edges.
