White Mare release "Isle Of Bliss"

In 2019, hyperactive Swiss musician D.G. (Duthaig, 3 Days Of Silence, Nightshade) joined forces with Dutchman J.A. (Doomcult) to create White Mare. Then, fellow Swiss T.W. (Nightshade) came on board just in time to fulfil his duties on drums on Isle Of Bliss, their first album.

This debut, packed with hypnotic piano melodies, funereal riffs, and desperate cries, is inspired by Homer’s Odyssey, and on it you’ll find tragic heroes facing epic hardships, yet so commonplace in this death spiral... What image could me more appropriately summoned to populate the ill-fated world created by White Mare? ‘Tragic’ and ‘epic’ are indeed the most suitable words to describe this new entity of melodic death doom, which on this initial release has featured a mix and master by J.A. himself and a cover artwork by Oriane Binggeli, plus additional guitars by Philippe Durussel on ‘No Isle Of Bliss’, violin by Mélodie Pican on ‘Les Oiseaux De Proie’, and backing vocals by Grant Hailey on ‘The White Mares’ Procession’.

Tormented souls who follow Saturnus, Doom:VS and My Dying Bride closely will certainly feel at home among the long mythological wails of White Mare.
