WARSIDE release the Album: Cognitive Extinction

French death metal band WARSIDE, drawing influence from acts such as Dying Fetus, Vomitory, and Misery Index, will release their debut full-length album Cognitive Extinction on May 8th, 2026 via Gruesome Records. The album introduces a renewed lineup on vocals and drums, bringing increased intensity, precision, and cohesion to the band’s sound. With Cognitive Extinction, WARSIDE sharpen their identity, leaning into a rawer and more aggressive approach built around direct, effective tracks.
"For the album, it's the idea of the new lineup (there are only two of us left from the original EP, The Enemy Inside) that pushed us to have a rawer, more direct sound.
The first single has quite personal lyrics about the damage that screens and digital technology are doing to our children's brains and intelligence, and the decline of culture. That's the main theme of the album." - says the band
