The band comment: "After years of waiting, we are super excited to release the first album single, ‘Cold’. This song hits you hard as hell, while keeping the Vomit the Soul classic groove; it’s a dark sound but catchy at the same time, as we like it. The short film was the best way to visualise our musical style and the story behind the track, explaining the transition from our first album cover Apostles of Inexpression, through to the new incredible Cold artwork done by the master Caelan Stokkermans. After the mystical rite done in 2009, our apostles are going to take over the wandering souls and the obscurity will rise with power and wickedness!"
Born in 2000, Vomit The Soul is the final product of an idea conjured up by three friends fascinated by everything concerning Death Metal. The bands live album, Hellish Live, captures the essence of their very first gig. After composing a few songs, the band entered the Avatara Studios (Milan) to record the four-track EP called Human Insanity in 2003, of which only 1,000 copies were printed.
In the wake of the EP, bassist Denny left the band and was substituted by Andrea, strengthening the brutal alliance. Vomit The Soul played gigs in northern Italy alongside bands like Nefas, Insane Assholes, Mind Snare, Corporal Raid, Cripple Bastards, Gorefuck, Genital Grinder and others.
Taking a break from the touring scene, the band concentrated on perfecting eight new songs to be recorded and released as their debut full length. Beforehand however, the band recorded a three-track promo CD entitled Cuntless Promo 2004, which saw them ink a deal with NC based label Comatose Music for the release of the debut full length; Portraits of Inhuman Abominations.
Reactions from listeners for Portraits of Inhumane Abominations were positive, collecting a good following from extreme music fans and medias worldwide. In support of the record, Vomit the Soul were invited to play some international death metal festivals like Ludwigshafen Deathfest, Neurotic Deathfest, Insane Insanity Deathfest, Undergrind Freakfest II, and shared the stage with bands from the likes of Necrophagist, Arsebreed, Impure, Gorerotted, Psycroptic, Insidious Decrepancy, Prostitute Disfigurement, Godless Truth, Napalm Death, and Carnal Decay.
Vomit The Soul's style soon evolved into something more complete, personal, groove-oriented, and more aggressive than ever. In 2008, the band completed recording their second album Apostles of Inexpression at 16th Cellar Studios in Rome. In the same year the band parted ways with Comatose Music and instead started their new journey with Unique Leader Records, releasing Apostles of Inexpression in 2009. Splitting up soon after the release, 2020 saw the band reunite with a new bassist: Stefano Rossi Ciucci (Bloodtruth, Instigate).
The band began writing a fresh album to mark Vomit The Soul's new era, titled Cold. The nine-track behemoth was mixed and mastered by the Italian sound sorcerer Stefano Morabito (Hour Of Penance, Eyeconoclast, Unfathomable Ruination, Bloodtruth), and bears the sinister artwork of the illustration master Caelan Stokkermas. Unique Leader Records will release Cold on November 12th 2021.
