Thy Sanatorium’s debut self-titled album drags death metal, black metal, goth, and symphonic heft into a horror-tinged realm that somehow stays eerily familiar and is crafted with a keen ear for mood and rhythm, shifting from savagery to melody yet never shedding its shadowy edge or ferocity.
