"Brood Eternal", the debut album from No Heroes, lands May 2 via Sound of the Northwoods. The record has been in the making for over ten years, started with the best intentions and shelved when life got in the way. After putting out their 2014 demo The Colorless Condition, the plan was to follow up quickly. That didn’t happen.

Other projects took shape in the meantime. Nick Stanger focused on Ashbringer and Xythlia, while Sklarr Gabel worked on his solo black metal project Concord and the sludge duo Ganja Mutt. Still, Brood Eternal remained quietly unfinished in the background. A decade later, they’ve closed that loop.

The result is a dense, abrasive record that pulls from deathgrind, black metal and hardcore without tying itself to any of them. It doesn’t try to sound current. It just sounds like something that needed to be finished, and finally was.
