As the planet burns around us and human society collapses into a mire of self-deceit, avarice and cruelty there has never been a more urgent need for music that confronts, devastates and blasts through the shallow, soulless bullshit we’re drowning in. An outlet for frustrated anger, a searing indictment of mindless, servile acceptance, a blast of intensity to rip through the mind-numbing clouds of lethargy…and when you bring together the combustible hardcore punk of Thumbsucker and the explosive grindcore insanity of Atomҫk you get all that and more; this is a wake-up call of shocking vehemence and a fourteen track nail bomb of a split release that will blow your world apart. Thumbsucker and Atomҫk are two voices from the UK underground that demand to be heard.

It’s down to Thumbsucker to kick off this ripping collection and after a short intro they let loose with the vein-bulging rage of ‘An Accident Waiting To End’ – a detonation of wild, grinding mayhem. And from there there’s no turning back, no chance to get off the ride as each track charges into the next. Be it the jarring riff shards, venomous vocals and irresistible rhythms of ‘Coward’, the bewildering bomb drops of ‘First World Problem’ or the rampaging, needle in the red adrenaline of ‘Grift’, Thumbsucker deliver in shocking, breathless fashion until the last unequivocal blow of ‘You Will Not Be Missed’. And before you’ve had a second to check for broken bones, Atomҫk take up the mantle of destruction. Fourteen years on from their debut EP, Yes To Alien Victory, Atomҫk have only become more abrasive and furious with the passage of time. Opening up with the caustic ‘Fuck Off Back To London (Again)’ Atomҫk are a battering assault on the senses, powered by some incredible drumming and utterly insane vocals. No matter how many acts of sonic extremity you have been exposed to over the years tracks like ‘Are You, Jon’ and ‘Thought Terminating Cliché’ are going to flay you alive. By the time the madness of ‘Still Dead’ reaches its conclusion you’ll be left beaten and broken.

Road To Masochist will release this incendiary cocktail of extremity on November 14th, on CD and 10” black vinyl. Make no mistake this split release is one of the most intense outpourings of rage and defiance that you’ll hear this year, or any other.
