Established in 2016, as a side hustle to house unused tracks from the project's founders’ main band Pissbucket, RODTGOD developed its own weird dynamic.
Turning the human experience into doom and death metal, then into “health metal.” The latter describes an ugly sound, with a rather wholesome intention - something dark and heavy with some light-hearted elements at the core. Proof that you can have both the (Hot-) rods and rot (hence both the “T” and the “d” in the name), emphasising its roots in both death- and sludge/stoner-metal
.

The 2023 EP “GRAVESIDE SERVICE” acted as an excursion into a different musical and lyrical territory than the two albums “New Doom Rising” and “Know your pain, pick your poison”. Ignoring the ironic undertone and taking itself a bit more seriously for once. Culminating in the trilogy’s youngest member “Tales From Beyond The Tomb,” which takes into account all phases of RODTGOD.
