Straight Against Fall's New EP ‘Echoes of Chaos’ Offers Hardcore Riffs and Catchy Hooks!

Straight Against Fall, a Portuguese-Brazilian project based in northern Portugal, is releasing the EP 'Echoes of Chaos' via the Psywar Records label.

Straight Against Fall was not created to cater to a specific niche. The *Echoes of Chaos* EP stands as a bold statement, uniting diverse elements of metal and hardcore into a single sonic identity—one that resonates with and is recognizable to fans of both genres.

There is no adherence to a rigid genre here. Instead, there is a clear, expansive direction: a sound designed for all environments within the metal scene, unconstrained by labels. It is music for anyone who wants to listen, feel, and mosh—with no other conditions attached.

This new release follows the path paved by their debut EP, *Stronger Than Your Hate (Ruthless)*, offering an even freer approach and a wider range of musical influences, while adding new layers that lend greater weight and scope to the sound. A standout track is "Void In Me," which bears a distinctly local stamp, featuring Fado influences that weave through the song's hardcore/metal structure.

The band highlights the atmosphere and lyrical themes of the new work: "The album deals with similar themes—longing, love, hate, and loneliness—and the single embodies all of that. It particularly reflects the crossover of styles and influences brought by each band member, as the new record generally incorporates elements from various styles both within and outside the metal genre."

Regarding the release, brothers Berman and Vinny Berbert—founders of Psywar Records—comment:

We view this release as an opportunity to strengthen ties between the European and Brazilian underground scenes and, more importantly, to shed light on the realities faced by Brazilian immigrants in Portugal. Now, Straight Against Fall is planning a European tour—with stops in Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands, and France, among others—marking a natural step in the band's consolidation beyond the local circuit.
