"Wastelands" is the point where Shadowmass fully step into their own sound. The album is built on classic heavy metal foundations pushed into a much harsher, more extreme territory. You can hear where the band comes from, but the focus is on strong, direct songs and a cold, cohesive atmosphere from start to finish.

Lyrically, the album turns to entropy in a very literal way: things wear out, structures collapse, intent fades, and order gives lugar ao caos. That idea is brought down to a human level, tired minds, broken focus, inner frameworks that no longer hold together.

Shadowmass's new release opens a new creative phase for them and was written with the stage in mind, ready to be taken to the live setting with the same weight and intensity it has on the album.
