SEVENTH STATION: Avant Tech/Prog Metal Quintet Issues “Tropical Limbo” Single And Live Video!

Jason Hesley

Multinational avant/progressive metal troupe SEVENTH STATION presents “Tropical Limbo,” the latest single from their impending On Shoulders Of Giants EP, nearing February release through Dutch label Layered Reality Productions.

SEVENTH STATION was formed and is led by Slovenian guitarist Dimitri Alperovich, with Turkish keyboardist Eren Başbuğ (mostly known from his work with Dream Theater, Jordan Rudess), Israeli vocalist Davidavi Dolev (Subterranean Masquerade), Ukrainian-Israeli bass player Alexy Polyanski (Jerusalem Academy Of Music And Dance), and Slovenian drummer Grega Plumbeger (Cordura). Despite the global spread of the members, Alperovich successfully gathered the musicians he believes to be the exact suit for the band’s music, spanning through the USA, Slovenia, and the Middle East, and later, performed in Europe.

SEVENTH STATION’s latest single “Tropical Limbo” redefines the boundaries of progressive metal, featuring a groundbreaking performance by drummer and classically trained percussionist Grega Plamberger. Showcasing his unparalleled skill, Plamberger masterfully juggles between the marimba and drum set in a live setting, creating a captivating interplay of melodic warmth and rhythmic ferocity. This bold fusion of instruments delivers a sonic experience that is as innovative as it is powerful, setting a new standard for creativity in metal music.

The band states, “we are very proud of this track, in which lies a perfect opportunity to introduce to you our drummer Grega. His ability to seamlessly shift between the marimba and drum set live adds a dynamic energy to our music—it's a performance unlike anything you’ve heard in metal before."
