The German death metal band SCALPTURE returns with their fourth album, "Landkrieg," which means 'land warfare' in German. Their aim is to conquer the music scene, despite all members personally opposing violence and war. The album focuses on the 30 Year War in Germany, which lasted from 1618 to 1648, and explores its impact, driven by the Habsburg emperor's efforts to enforce Catholicism.

Warlords like Wallenstein exploited the chaos, and their soldiers, known as Landsknecht, committed many brutal acts against civilians. The war became an international affair, with figures like King Gustav II Adolph of Sweden aiding the Protestant cause, though his tactics were equally brutal.

SCALPTURE's sound in "Landkrieg" is a mix of brutal and hard-hitting death metal with added variety, shaped by extensive touring and practice. Formed in 2009 in Bielefeld, founding guitarist Felix Marbach aimed to create uncompromising death metal while evolving a unique style. With prior albums "Panzerdoktrin," "Eisenzeit," and "Feldwärts," they've refined their sound, incorporating various influences.

Their lyrics, researched in detail, focus on the horrors of war, while promoting modern values like tolerance and peace. "Landkrieg" offers listeners a choice: to seek shelter or enjoy the intense energy of death metal.
