West Netherlands hardcore crew Rival Pack will release their debut record, Burn, on June 20 via Thrash Out Records on vinyl and digital formats.

The story of Rival Pack began in 2019, when vocalist Kevin teamed up with drummer Luc with the simple goal of making music again. What started as a spontaneous collaboration quickly evolved into something bigger, reuniting former members of Bound in Blood — the hardcore act featuring Kevin, his brother Perry (guitar), and Barry (bass), known for over a decade of explosive shows across the Netherlands and beyond.

Bound in Blood ended abruptly due to Perry’s health issues. Kevin later joined metalcore outfit All Heads Rise, which evolved into For I Am King after his departure. After a long recovery, Perry returned to guitar, joined by Merijn — a longtime fan who often attended Bound in Blood shows with Matty, now Rival Pack’s roadie and merchman. Luc, who first saw the band at thirteen, now drums for Rival Pack and plays guitar in From the Heart.

Not long after forming, Rival Pack released their debut single and video, “No One Else,” showcasing Kevin’s martial arts skills, fitting, as he works professionally as a stuntfight choreographer. He’s also an accomplished blacksmith, crafting powerful creations by hand.

Their debut album Burn is a soundtrack for demolition, a release of years of rage packed into ten precise hardcore strikes, channeling the wild, unfiltered energy of the late ’90s and early 2000s scene. Aggressive yet uplifting, raw yet focused, the songs pulse with honest, heartfelt lyrics that speak to shared struggles. The title track features Thiago Monstrinho from the Brazilian hardcore act Worst.

The record reflects the radical honesty Rival Pack stands for. As the band puts it: “It’s about not running from your pain, but facing it head-on. Only then can you discover your true strength — the strength to be yourself, raw, unfiltered, and untouched by the noise around you. Everyone faces hardship in life. The real question is: how do you deal with it? Not by pretending everything is fine, but by digging deep to find the place where your real power lives.”

The band continues: “We carry our own scars too. A powerful bond between Kevin, Perry, and Barry was forged when, as teenagers, they were involved in a tragic accident that left lasting emotional wounds. Since then, music has been our outlet — a way to process, to heal, and to give strength to others.”

Through it all, Rival Pack stands with a clear vow: “With Rival Pack, we aim to be more than just a band. We want to inspire, to motivate, and to remind people — especially in their darkest moments — that there is always light at the end of the tunnel.”
