Known for his work with Dark Solstice, Omega Point and his time in Agathodaimon, where he wrote most of the band’s latest album The Seven, Ristridi built Ride The Storm around a classic heavy and power metal approach inspired by bands such as Demons & Wizards, Blind Guardian and Symphony X. The album combines melodic clean vocals with darker harsh vocal sections, moving between storytelling, conflict and atmosphere without losing its direct heavy metal core.

All music and instruments were written and performed by Ristridi, while Anti handled lyrics and vocal melodies. Alex Meyer brings the harsher side of the record through aggressive vocal passages that answer Anti’s cleaner delivery throughout the album.

Lyrically, Ride The Storm revolves around themes of freedom, sacrifice and change. Each song follows different characters and situations, drawing from legends, fantasy worlds and moral conflict. According to lyricist Anti, freedom stands at the centre of the album, whether it is fought for, denied, lost or reclaimed. The songs also deal with the idea that resisting change only leads to further destruction, while adaptation becomes necessary to survive difficult times.

Instead of treating these stories as simple escapism, the band approach them more like old fables and cautionary tales. The record moves through ideas of loyalty, vengeance, imprisonment, identity and personal struggle, using fantasy settings to reflect very human situations underneath.
