BIO:
Formed in 1994 under the name Nocticula from an idea of Boris Hunter, former drummer of Death SS, and Jacopo Orlando (Amok) bass and vocals, involving musicians Luciano Zella (Megerah Z) and Enrico Paoli (Angakok) on guitars in the project. They debuted with the demotape Nocticula containing four tracks, Creep shadows creep, Madness Network, No Nightmare, Hellhound. Unfortunately, 1994's Nocticula had no way to perform live, and the project thus came to its conclusion within a short time. In September 2019 the project restarted under the name Nocticula Resurget. The only original member remains Boris Hunter, the role of the vocal bassist is split with two new members, the guitarists are also replaced. The band decides to reprise the songs from the 1994 demo but replacing the lyrics. Thus was born a collaboration with two Florentine writers, Iole Troccoli and Alberto Pestelli, who began writing a series of poems, later collected in "Another Sun, Another Moon."
The eight poems are the basis for working out the lyrics for the old and nascent songs that will give birth to the concept album Revenge; a sadly well-known story of the witchcraft persecution of innocent young women. During the first phase of recording at the turn of 2020-2021, a lineup change occurs with the replacement of guitarists forcing the re-recording of guitar parts already done. During the writing of the new songs the band realizes that a female voice is also needed, so a friend of the band is contacted to play the role of Nocticula. After a year and a half of processing Revenge comes to light. During the post-production a friend of the band as well as the voice of Radio Facciamo Valere il Metallo Italiano who was looking forward to the work with strong curiosity passes away; for this reason the entire album is dedicated to the memory of Francesco Yggrasill Fallico.
The whole album is entirely self-produced, recorded in the band's studio by Amok while editing, mixing and mastering was done at Samuele Sarti's Wave studio in Fiesole (FI). Photographs for the album were also taken in the band's studio set up as a studio for the occasion. Two of the new members adopt the name of the old characters Amok (on bass) and Angakok (on guitar), on vocals and second guitar the characters of Secutor and Ordnas are born, respectively.
