Formed in 2019 under the name Intoxicated, Rampant Beast shifted their sound and direction during the pandemic, evolving from death metal to a more chaotic black thrash metal style. Into the Infernal Pyre is the culmination of this transformation, blending elements of early Sodom, Destruction, and Venom with a raw punk-like energy reminiscent of Warfare.
Lead guitarist Hayk Gyurjyan credits their musical inspiration to classic thrash and black metal acts like Deathhammer, Vomitor, and early Razor. The album reflects this with fast, brutal tracks like "Bestial Torment" and "Extreme Aggression," drawing listeners into a maelstrom of aggression and speed.
As described by the label, Rampant Beast bridges the gap between early black thrash and speed metal, capturing the essence of the 80s underground metal scene while adding their youthful vigor to the mix. Recorded in 2022-2023 in the “blood caves” of Yerevan, Armenia, Into the Infernal Pyre is set to become a cult favorite among fans of raw, unpolished thrash.
