KILLSORROW was created in 2008 in Krakow by guitarist Michał Sokół. The band's roster changed multiple times before finally stabilizing in 2015. Each member of the band is an experienced musician who has played hundreds of concerts and supported world-class bands.
Music for new studio album titled "Wasteland Chronicles" was recorded at Heinrich House Studio (Azarath, Behemoth, Masachist) and Studio Centrum. All was mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordström at Fredman Studio (In Flames, Arch Enemy, Sabaton, Dimmu Borgir, Septicflesh) in Goteborg. Cover artwork was done by duo Zbigniew Józefczyk and Michał "Xaay" Loranc (Evangelist, Kamelot, Konkhra).
On the new album the band presents a new musical face, they play mixture melody and aggressive of Trivium and In Flames with catchy Iron Maiden riffs and progression of Evergrey and Kamelot. All of the songs with themes referring to the Mad Max or Fallout series tell various loosely related stories.
November 3, 2023 band released full album on physical format as CD which could be ordered at their official website http://killsorrow.com/ and Via Nocturna webstore. Digital version of the album was released September 6, 2024 (link here).
"We wanted to record songs that would be a good foundation for Piotr's vocals, which is why the album has a slightly different character than the previous ones. It is more lyrical. You will find both fast and slow songs there, we mainly wanted to maintain the atmosphere of a post-apocalyptic wasteland, which we apparently succeeded in" - says Michał, the leader of the band.
The band is unfortunately parting ways with its vocalist and the two upcoming live shows are the last ones where you will be able to hear him.
"Piotr decided to leave the band because he is absorbed by his private matters. We are parting ways amicably and we keep our fingers crossed for him that everything will work out the way he wants. At the same time, in connection with this, a certain guest will appear at the upcoming concerts, but I do not want to reveal more about it, it is a surprise" - continues Michał.
