Out This Week: CORPUS OFFAL!
20 Buck Spin is set to release the debut LP from Austin, Texas death metal band, CORPUS OFFAL, on March 21, 2025. This band emerged after the sudden end of Cerebral Rot, keeping core members Ian Schwab and Clyle Lindstrom, while adding bassist Jason Sachs and drummer Jesse Shreibman. CORPUS OFFAL's music delivers a brutal sound filled with heavy grooves and disturbing themes, likened to a corpse dragged from a sewer.
Their self-titled album showcases a mix of death metal, gore, and deathgrind, featuring tracks like “Spinous Forms Of Mortal Abhorrence. ” Schwab's vocals are described as chaotic and grotesque, telling grim stories of death and abnormality. Each song resembles a medical examination intertwined with dark, twisted thoughts.
The album, produced by Billy Anderson, promises to leave listeners feeling exhausted and confused, as if they experienced an intense, disturbing performance. Fans of similar bands such as Cerebral Rot and Fetid are encouraged to listen. The record was engineered by Anderson, mastered by Dan Lowndes, and features artwork by Karina Monzon. Preorders for the LP, CD, and digital formats are available on the 20 Buck Spin webshop and Bandcamp.
