Romantic Songs Recordings, La Rubia Producciones, Interstellar Smoke Records, and Vertebrae proudly present a mesmerizing collaboration between two female-fronted psychedelic doom bands, Cruzeiro and Stryx, in a split 7" vinyl.
Cruzeiro, from the mystical landscapes of Galicia, presents "Naufraxio," a track that encapsulates the essence of a shipwreck with ethereal riffs and haunting melodies, featuring fragments from a poem by Aleixandre Lago Barcala. On the other side, Stryx, with roots in Italy and Germany, delivers "Seta Nera," a composition wrapped in black silk, characterized by sinister riffs and unsettling vocals, challenging the hypocrisy of the Catholic Church.
CRUZEIRO:Founded in 2019 in A Coruña, Spain, by Beatriz Onyx (Voice), Gon. B (Guitars), Raposa (Bass), and Rust (Drums), CRUZEIRO's name reflects the cultural and spiritual heritage of Galicia, symbolized by the granitic stone crosses. Their sound, inspired by Windhand, Om, Sleep, Electric Wizard, and Black Sabbath, offers a lysergic and cosmic journey through Galician folklore and Stoner Doom.
STRYX:Emerging from Le Marche, Italy, STRYX is a retro occult-tinted band with roots in the same unholy grounds as Paul Chain, Antonius Rex, and early Death SS. Comprising The Undertaker (Guitar, Keyboards), The Priestess (Vocals), The Magus (Bass), and The Wraith (Drums), their music blends psychedelic litanies, fatalism, and nihility, counter-exorcising the horrors of the Catholic Church.
Recording Info:
CRUZEIRO: Recorded at Moontower Studios, Terrassa, in September 2021.
STRYX: Drums recorded at Overdrive Records (Italy), vocals at Journey Into Eternity Studios (Germany), and other parts in the Purple Room (Hades).
