Orthodox share video/focus track ft. Mastodon's Brann Dailor from new album out today on Century Media!
Nashville heavy hitters Orthodox unleash their monolithic new album A Door Left Open today via Century Media. Their masterful fusion of frenetic, intricate rhythms, pushed-to-the-breaking-point riffing and emotive vocals has refined itself to a bleeding edge proposition. With help from Mastodon’s Brann Dailor, Boundaries’ Matt McDougal and Comeback Kid frontman Andrew Neufeld, Orthodox have truly pushed hardcore heaviness to a new level of brutality.
Today Orthodox also release their striking video for A Door Left Open’s focus track “One Less Body” which features guest vocals from Mastodon’s Brann Dailor. “This track is definitely the odd ball on the record,” says drummer Mike White. “Most of it was written in the studio and effectively executed with guidance of Randy [LeBoeuf, producer]. Lots of “What if?” riffs tossed around for this one—no rules. Brann's vocals expand on that by adding a powerful yet atmospheric bridge unlike anything Orthodox has done before.” For the video, White teamed up with director Josh Richter for an eerie tale of a cruising killer which was inspired by the classic ‘girl in a white dress’ video.
