Oregon black/thrashers GRAVEWITCH promote their sophomore album with “Damnable Evil” visualizer!

In 2013, Chris Fleming and Andrew Ingraham founded the metal band Gravewitch in Bend, Oregon. The band blends thrash, black, death, and melodic metal. Starting as a two-piece with Fleming on guitar and vocals and Ingraham on drums, they developed a dark sound characterized by aggressive riffs, blast beats, and powerful growls. They were influenced by bands such as Kreator and Amon Amarth. The addition of bassist Doug Green strengthened their live performances, creating a heavy and energetic presence.
Gravewitch’s music is bold and intense, with lyrics focusing on themes of battle and darkness. Their song “Circle of Power” is a notable fan favorite, often featured in live shows. Since their early days, the band has gained traction in the Pacific Northwest's underground metal scene, performing alongside notable acts like Lord Dying and Nervosa. Their touring efforts expanded their fanbase, which included a tour with the Italian band Voltumna in 2017.
Their first EP, Soul Reaper, was released in 2015, establishing them in the metal scene, and their debut album, The Summoning, came out in 2020, showcasing their unique sound. Gravewitch has opened for several prominent bands and continues to deliver powerful performances that engage audiences. They have maintained independence by refusing to sign with major labels, controlling their music and creative direction. Chris Fleming handles much of the instrumentation to keep their vision intact.
As they prepare for their second album, Gravewitch (2025), excitement is high, promising an impressive continuation of their sound. The band's legacy is constantly evolving, gaining a dedicated following and solidifying their place in the metal world, with their impact expected to grow even further.
