A short introduction to the band:

Ocularis Infernum has been active in the Latvian metal scene since 2002. The band's early years were also notable for featuring aggressive female vocals, a rarity in the local metal scene at the time. Today, the band continues to evolve its sound while remaining true to its dark and melodic roots.

"Strife and Ascendance" combines aggressive black metal with live orchestral instrumentation, including violin, cello, double bass, French horn, and trombone, creating a dark and atmospheric sound rooted in both symphonic and melodic black metal traditions.
