NevBorn, the progressive metal band from Western Switzerland, is thrilled to announce the release of their latest single, "ELIS," on September 30th. This track is the first glimpse into their forthcoming album, Alkaios · Part II · The Peacock, which will be released via Luminol Records on March 30th, 2025.
"ELIS" delves into the ancient Greek myth of Heracles, specifically his fifth labor, capturing the intense pursuit of justice following the cleansing of King Augeas's stables. The track uniquely offers dual perspectives by including both Heracles and Phyleus, the king's son, creating a powerful blend of myth and music.
Musically, "ELIS" draws inspiration from influential bands like Circa Survive, The Ocean, and Agent Fresco, combining their emotive, expansive sound with the intensity of an ancient legend. The track’s extended length, varied passages, and distinctive rhythmic signatures ensure a captivating listening experience that takes the audience on a journey through sound and story.
NevBorn's journey in the progressive metal scene began with the release of their debut album, Five Horizons, in 2015, which was met with critical acclaim. In 2017, they ventured into new territory with the one-song EP Daídalos, a 20-minute epic featuring Loïc Rossetti of The Ocean, further solidifying their reputation for crafting intricate, narrative-driven compositions.
In 2023, NevBorn embarked on their most ambitious project yet: a trilogy based on the Twelve Labors of Heracles. The first installment, Alkaios · Part I · The Eagle, received widespread praise for its complex compositions and detailed arrangements, setting a high standard for the subsequent releases.
Now, NevBorn is gearing up for the release of Alkaios · Part II · The Peacock in spring 2025 through Luminol Records. The album will continue the epic tale of Heracles with four long tracks, promising another chapter of intricate storytelling and progressive metal mastery.
