Modern Metal Newcomers UNBURDEN Go For The Jugular With Powerful New Single ‘Grey Matter’
Heavy, catchy, and nostalgic. These are three words to describe the brand-new single from the Australian/Dutch metal outfit UNBURDEN. ‘Grey Matter’ drives forward with purpose and reaches out of the speakers to grab the listener with pummeling rhythms, outstanding melodies, and animalistic vocals.
“It’s all about the energy,” expresses the band. “The track is full of it and has that real old-school metalcore feeling all the way through. Think “Deep Blue”-era Parkway Drive, Trivium, and Bury Tomorrow. The lyrics are a vulnerable display of mortality and self-image, and this is given so much weight when placed atop a track that’s heavy, melodic, and intensely dissonant at one point.
‘Grey Matter’ was produced by the band, and then mixed and mastered by Sebastian Sendon, known for his contributions on Bleed From Within’s latest record “Shrine”, as well as on Periphery’s latest record “Periphery V: Djent Is Not A Genre”. UNBURDEN are standing tall and telling the world that with tracks like ‘Grey Matter’, they matter.
