Burying Angels is a project of a Chicago-based guitarist Mark Palangio.

“I started playing guitar when I was 17 years old after seeing Iron Maiden live footage from Rock In Rio. The way all 3 guitarists interacted on stage and played solos and harmonies together was the coolest thing I had ever seen! Maiden is still my favorite band of all time, but as I got more into metal, I discovered all of the Swedish melodic death metal bands and fell in love. The Jester Race was the first “extreme” metal album I heard and it blew my mind. Still my number 1 album to this day, I always loved everything about that old school Gothenburg sound. The low tunings, the harmonies, the melody lines, the growling vocals, just the amazing melding of heaviness with melody.”
