Based out of the US and Mexico, the melodic death metal band FALSIMONIAN infuse their sound with influences from Mexican folk and Latin-American roots music, as well as progressive elements and jazz. "Freefall" is the debut single to land ahead of the forthcoming EP For Survival, set to arrive independently on November 7, 2026.

The burnout that arises from living in a heightened state of anxiety and uncertainty, and from being exposed to a continuous and overwhelming amount of negative news, is the lyrical focus of "Freefall". The notion of falling into a detrimental cycle of burnout is revealed through the repeated lyric “On a loop, my life is repeating”. An emotive portrayal of anguish and disrupted health and well-being carries through the single's narrative in which this existence has become the new 'normal'.

Musically, "Freefall" combines melodic death metal with some aspects of progressive death metal. The track also features a keyboard lead invoking some of the classic Finnish melodic death metal bands. Strong yet subtle rhythmic elements reminiscent of Mexican folk music accentuate the drums with a playful groove.
