Bassist/vocalist Brandon Ringo comments on the song, "'Siege in the Stars' is the first song that was written for the new album and it was conceived during a time when we had just changed our lineup and had 10 days to create a setlist of new material. Robert came up with the riffs and I started working on lyrics and once Khetner wrote his drums parts, the song became something massive and special. Lyrically the song represents the bloodthirsty mammoth king’s journey through space on his way to achieve his violent quest.”
Robert Warner, the band's guitarist and vocalist, offers additional insight about the song. "'Siege In The Stars' is a cornerstone song off of this new LP. I started writing this song while I was still playing drums on a $25 broken SG into a small practice amp not knowing that SITS would end up being as important as it is. I am very influenced by bands like Mastodon and Tool, and I feel that we captured those influences well in this body of work. Working in January with Raif at Holy Anvil Recordings was a bucket-list item. I’ve been so influenced by projects he was in like Bones of the Earth, and with his passion for documenting Arkansas music in a way that gives someone not only an audio version but a way to really see what the band in question was like in their mannerisms and energy. It gives viewers an example of how eclectic and beautiful our music scene is here. We will also be playing Anvil Fest (which is put on by Raif) that showcases this exact thought live to showcase these wonderful bands. We are so thankful for Raif and the opportunity to be a part of Anvil Sessions and Anvil Fest."
