Triumphant Melodic Black Metal forged in Charlotte, North Carolina since 2013, Rites to Sedition return with Draco Dynasties — a new full-length offering that fuses symphonic and melodic black metal with shades of thrash and technical death. Their sound remains rooted in atmosphere and precision, delivering richly layered compositions that oscillate between grandeur and intensity.
Draco Dynasties unfolds as a collection of loosely connected retellings of mythological and historical events. It opens with Empyreal Visitations, introducing the Archetypal Man and his relentless pursuit of knowledge. In Generations of Ea, the Akkadian priest Atrahasis confronts the wrath of gods, the Great Flood, and the survival of humankind. The rise of the Archontic Force signals the descent of man into corruption, ushering in eras ruled by despotism and spiritual decay.
The title track Draco Dynasties draws from Egyptian myth, where Horus wages war against Set to avenge his father and reclaim order. Blood Sworn recounts Dracula’s vengeance upon the church, transforming grief into terror and echoing through the cursed legends of Romania. In Solstice of the Condemned, the darkness of the year 536 AD descends, following the eruption that veiled the sun and shattered civilizations.
The journey continues through the psyche in In the Shadows of Rebirth, where the soul plunges into unconscious depths before rising again in Within the Houses of Xibalba, navigating the terrors of the Mayan underworld as a reborn warrior.
