Founded in 2022, Enemies Everywhere have become one of the most active new names in Finnish extreme metal. The band released their debut EP Endless Discord in September 2024 through Ranka Kustannus, followed by shows at Nummirock, Bloodstock Festival, Tuska’s official afterparty, and Tavastia with Warmen.
After the arrival of vocalist Sasu Mikkola in 2025, Enemies Everywhere began shaping the next chapter of the band. "Atonement" is their second single with Sasu and follows the direction opened by "Undead Masquerade". The band are currently finishing their debut album, due this autumn, while continuing to tour across Finland. Ahead of the summer festival season, they will also play shows in the Baltics and Poland, along with a headlining show in Helsinki.
The band says: "‘Atonement’ is the brainchild of our producer, Atte. He approached the band with the demo, complete with arrangements, riffs and production elements. We thought it was best to let him complete his vision, so we gave him free rein with the lyrics as well. After we collectively agreed that the song was a good fit for the record, Atte and Otso went to work on perfecting the final sound. It was after Atte sat Otso down and told him to reach deep into the darkest corners of his mind that the song fully came to life. Otso undoubtedly laid down some of his most compelling guitar work to date, and it shows."
They add: "The verse riff draws strong influence from the death metal scene, where Otso takes much of his inspiration from. Incorporating all the hallmarks of deathcore, including choirs, orchestras, blast beats and more, ‘Atonement’ is the perfect blend of old and new."
