With Heaven's Bloated Corpse, the debut album from Ireland's Leadbelcher, purveyors of dissident death metal, nearly upon us, the band have issued a final forbidding warning of what to expect. Working with director Raymond Keenaghan of Visual Decay the band have created a challenging, confrontational video to accompany the savage track, 'Immured In Holy Excrement'.

Leadbelcher are not the kind of band to indulge in meaningless shock tactics and front man Matthew Simpson has shared an insight into the thinking behind the song and its accompanying video...

"Immured In Holy Excrement metaphorically draws the parallels between suffering and transcendence, be it mental anguish experienced through grief, depression, loss, or physical torment, be it self inflicted, received as punishment, or experienced through sickness.

An easy life grants no insight, those who have never starved will not know hunger, scars are proof that pain was endured.

Life is an endless wound to those that persevere."

Director Raymond Keenaghan has also given his thoughts on the video and what he was trying to achieve with the challenging visual presentation...

"The band wanted me to create something 'absolutely rancid, like borderline unwatchable' - writhing masses of flesh, decay, lumps of meat and body horror. I had wanted to use footage from the 1973 Spanish horror film The Bell from Hell in a metal video for some time, and this track felt like the perfect opportunity. The film has a bizarre, decaying atmosphere, with its slaughterhouse imagery and nightmarish sense of unease. I edited together some of the darkest and most disturbing sequences, selecting moments that seemed to echo the lyrics and the feeling of the music. The killer appears to lose his mind more and more as the video progresses. I then layered the footage with additional images of blood, gore and real anatomical dissections, creating something that feels like a fragmented, grotesque nightmare - a reflection of the song’s themes of physical transformation, terror and the loss of one’s own form."
