Kajgūn takes totally improvised jazz metal to the next level with the video of Ptahfraw Nowmuuz!
During their July 2021 session in Csend Studio, Kajgūn not only improvised the music on the spot, the band also invited a film crew to do improvisation with visual ideas, lights and camera movements, which made the new material alive and kicking.
The July 2021 session was done with the purpose of recording the band’s debut album Daogoad, which is to be released in both audio and video format. Ptahfraw Nowmuuz is the first piece from the new material. The session video of Ptahfraw Nowmuuz is going to be published on Kajgūn ‘s YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtJnlvYV80Eeks3XINPifOQ) on November 12.
Kajgūn is a psychedelic jazz metal band playing totally improvised music with the goal to reformulate fusion jazz via the elements of metal and world music, putting an emphasis on beauty and coherence.
Kajgūn’s debut EP Maorey has been described by Opium Cave as “a psychedelic journey that takes your body and spirit to a new plane”. Fuzzy Cracklins wrote “this 4-piece from Hungary delivers the ‘real deal’ in metal improvisation” (https://www.fuzzycracklins.com/2020/11/kajgun.html). Balázs Varga, a well-known Hungarian underground promoter and head of the Fekete Zaj Community and Negative Art booking agency, has included Maorey in his best albums of 2020 list on MusicPress blog (https://musicpress.blog.hu/2021/01/18/2020_legjobb_albumai_a_musicpress_szerint).
