Inferno Nuclear presents "Amazônia em Chamas", its new studio album,
reaffirming its purpose of executing timeless, heavy, fast and aggressive
thrash metal inspired by 80s oldschool bands. The album brings 9 new tracks,
all sung in portuguese, with production, recording and mixing by Thiago
Bezerra.
Formed in Belém, Pará in 2006 by Wellington Freitas (vocals) in the midst of
the thrash metal world revival, Inferno Nuclear is currently rooted in São
Paulo, and includes Leonardo Garcia (guitar), Leandro Kronnos (bass) and
Marcos Luz (drums). The new album boosts the band into a new phase of its
trajectory, marked by musical maturity and a strong critical stance.
Recorded at Madness Music (Jardim da Conquista, SP) from October to
December 2024, the album explores deep and currect subject areas such as
environmental destruction, human condition, racism, religious fanaticism,
violence, war and social injustice. With direct and intense lyrics, "Amazônia
em Chamas" proposes a critical and commited thrash metal, not forgetting the
aggressive essence of the genre.
Musically, the album delivers distorted riffs, complex bass lines, fast drums
and resounding vocals, in a sound that alludes to bands like Vio-Lence,
Exodus, Testament, Metallica and Sepultura, while maintaining Inferno
Nuclear’s own identity.
The cover art was created by Márcio Aranha, visually capturing the urgent and
critical message that permeates the entire album
