“Covenant of the Immortal” lyrically explores a dark theme and atmosphere of a haunted/cursed manor, with the song's protagonist desperate to escape his fate. This track blends old-school neoclassical metal ala King Diamond and the Shrapnel artists of the 80's with a huge and driving power metal chorus.
“It is probably the most power metal influenced song we’ve done thus far. While we’ve explored power metal and neoclassical metal before, we’ve never done it to this extent. "I really love how melodic "Covenant" is while at the same time maintaining a great sense of momentum courtesy of a driving main riff and lots of cool twists and turns, stops and starts. The solo section was a lot of fun to develop, and we knew we wanted to take some of the dual guitar sections that we included on the last record to the next level.
