The Gothic Doom Metal band from Belgium just released a premiere video on Youtube for Tattered Lanterns. A unique acoustic performance in a very special place, the Natural History Museum of Tournai.
Formed in 2021 whose music focuses on an ethereal approach to morbid themes.
The name HYLDR is a reference to a valkyrie that one character wishes she could
become in a book written by singer Lady IX. That book is used as a template for song concepts and is about a Japanese woman who ends up in the middle of a viking turmoil. In that story there are elements of the supernatural combined with doses of Greek tragedy.
Visually, the band intrigues. Dressed in a black kimono, masked, Lady IX comments :
“The mask has been a transitional process. The half mask is practical for singing, while also being a gateway to the story of Kyoko and the Norsemen; reality and fantasy all in one.”
