Hollow Bone to release the Album: Onar in October!
Formed in Milan in January 2016 from the vision of drummer and percussionist Carlo Garof, Hollow Bone have developed a distinctive sound where post metal, electronics, downtempo and experimental textures converge. Rather than being confined to a single genre, the band builds immersive and constantly evolving soundscapes, attracting listeners from different musical backgrounds.
The band's name refers to the concept of the “hollow bone” described by Lakota Sioux Teton medicine man Frank Fools Crow, an idea that reflects Hollow Bone's approach to music: becoming a channel through which experiences, visions and emotions can take shape.
Following their debut, Hollow Bone return with Onar, their second studio album and their most immersive work to date. The title comes from the Greek word ὄναρ, meaning “dream” or “vision”, and the concept is at the very heart of the record. Every composition originated in a dream, turning the album into a journey through transformation, spirituality, introspection and the deeper layers of human experience.
Onar deliberately moves beyond conventional songwriting. Its complex, layered and profoundly atmospheric sound is built around the use of the voice as a sonic element rather than a vehicle for narrative communication. Instead of following a traditional semantic structure, the vocals become part of the overall texture, drawing the listener into an abstract and intensely visual dimension.
The album is conceived as a continuous listening experience, with individual tracks flowing into one another to create a single uninterrupted journey. This approach is further expanded through a visual collaboration with artists Kurokawa Toru and Andrea Baldelli, alongside graphic designer Francesca Papasodaro, making Onar a multidisciplinary work in which sound and imagery become part of the same experience.
