Dynamic progressive metal project FIGHT THE TORNADO from Chester, UK, presents a dark and heavy offering in "Vortices". The new single provides a further glimpse into their forthcoming debut album set for release in early 2025. Watch "Vortices" HERE.
Jonny from FIGHT THE TORNADO had this to say about the song: “'Vortices' to me is a reminder of the diversity of metal music. To me it shows that metal can be hopeful and optimistic and even have happy themes in the right circumstances. This was a challenging song compositionally (and on vocals!) but I really wanted to capture the airiness in the vocals while maintaining heavy guitars and progressive themes throughout. I know it’s a little bit different, but I hope people enjoy it!”
The new single from FIGHT THE TORNADO takes a more atmospheric turn as it focuses upon striving for a place to belong. Heavy guitars over optimistic synths and strings lead into a groovy metal verse with vocal harmonies. With an emphasis on the chord patterns, the chorus kicks in and the airy vocals soar over the fast riff and pulse-pounding drums beneath. Expressive guitar solos and ambient sections really help to solidify the hopeful theme of "Vortices"; the assurance that in time anybody can find the path that they are supposed to take in life. Meanwhile distorted chords and harsh vocals confer the doubts that may arise along the way.
