CELESTIAL CHAOS is a comeback release by HERRIOT after a 25-year hiatus. The EP consists of reworked material from the band's early years, revisited during the BLACK DAY MASSACRE album sessions in 2024. While the album's release date has yet to be announced, both releases were recorded, mixed, and mastered by Fredrik Nordström of Studio Fredman fame (IN FLAMES, AT THE GATES, DARK TRANQUILLITY, DIMMU BORGIR, ARCH ENEMY).

Early reviews have praised CELESTIAL CHAOS for its "world-class production and musicianship" (Krenmaut) and described it as "not only the perfect re-imagining of the past, but it was definitely also the final gunshot to mark the end of one version of HERRIOT and the birth of its next incarnation" (The Sun). The EP features guest vocal appearances from members of Malaysian up-and-coming Metal bands 302, HIATUS, CATACLYSMIC PURIFICATION, and OBSCURIAL, each lending a distinctive approach to their respective tracks.

Ultimately, CELESTIAL CHAOS serves as both a preview of the direction of the upcoming album and a farewell to the band's earlier era.
