Pagan Records has announced a stunning new reissue of "As The Flame Withers", the monumental debut full-length album from Greek black metal titans Yoth Iria. Out now, this definitive edition celebrates the album that reignited the spirit of the '90s occult scene.
Originally released in 2021, “As The Flame Withers” is a collaboration between two of the most influential figures in Greek extreme metal: Jim Mutilator (founding member of Rotting Christ and Varathron) and The Magus (Necromantia, ex-Rotting Christ). Together, they created an amalgam of dark, diabolical, and majestic music, a fresh look into the Hellenic occult sound that they pioneered decades ago, balanced with a fierce vision for the future.
This 2026 pressing is strictly limited to 300 copies and features:
12" 180g Smoked Splatter Vinyl
Deluxe Gatefold Sleeve
Printed Insert
The album was recorded at Pentagram Studio with George Emmanuel (Rotting Christ, Septicflesh, Lucifer’s Child) and features striking cover art by Harnasash Singh.

The band represents the DNA of Greek black metal. Jim Mutilator was the first bassist and founding member of Rotting Christ, appearing on the genre-defining "Thy Mighty Contract", as well as a founding member of Varathron, performing on the classic "His Majesty at the Swamp". The Magus, a formidable composer and lyricist, shaped the "Hellenic sound" through Necromantia and collaborations with Thou Art Lord and Rotting Christ.
While "As The Flame Withers" remains a cornerstone of their discography, Yoth Iria continues to evolve. Following the departure of The Magus in 2023 to focus on his solo project, Jim Mutilator has led the band into a prolific new chapter.
In late 2024, the band released their critically acclaimed sophomore album, "Blazing Inferno" (via Edged Circle Productions), featuring new vocalist Rustam Shakirzyanov (aka "He"). Building on this momentum, Yoth Iria recently announced a major milestone: signing with Metal Blade Records. The band is currently in the studio working on their third full-length album, scheduled for release in Spring 2026.
Fans can catch Yoth Iria’s intense live ritual across Europe throughout 2026, including a confirmed appearance at Mystic Festival in Poland.
