Ontario’s metal project HATRED’S RISE has released its debut album Echoes of the Machine on March 24th. Composed by 10 tracks for over 42 minutes of playing time, Echoes of the Machine showcases a winning blend of traditional, thrash, groove, and progressive metal. Guest appearances from Glen Drover (ex-Megadeth, ex-King Diamond), Henning Basse (Metalium, ex-Firewind), and Mike DiMeo (ex-Riot, ex-Masterplan) elevate the album into a collaborative force of sonic aggression and haunting melody!

Echoes of the Machine is the culmination of decades of musical evolution. The album is thematically rooted in a near-future dystopia where the human will clashes with technological oppression - but each track also serves as a deeply personal metaphor for inner conflict, trauma, and growth. The album’s sound is inspired by early thrash riffs, modern breakdowns and tempo shifts, atmospheric layering and overtones with emotionally charged guitar solos reminiscent of classic metal bands.
HATRED’S RISE is a solo metal project conceived by veteran session and fill-in guitarist Pat Larocque in 2024, built from the ground up in his Iron Sphere Studios in Northern Ontario, Canada. HATRED’S RISE fuses the raw, blood-and-bone grit of traditional metal with cinematic atmospheres and modern production precision. Drawing on decades of experience, Larocque began working with world-renowned guest vocalists, drummers, and instrumentalists to bring his compositions to life. The result is an explosive, emotional, and sonically rich sound that pays homage to metal’s past while forging something fiercely contemporary. Each track is a chapter - a tightly composed journey rooted in anger, sorrow, defiance, and resilience - delivered through punishing guitar riffs, thunderous drums, with dynamic guest musicians, and vocalists who bring each song’s narrative to life.
