US-based occult doom rock trio Hail Darkness is thrilled to release a brand-new music video for their latest track, "Bound to the Night." This haunting song is a fresh addition to the band's catalog, not featured on their critically acclaimed debut album, Death Divine, which was released last month via Vatican Records.
"Bound to Night" further explores Hail Darkness's signature blend of occult 70's rock, psychedelia, doom, and folk, delivering a powerful and atmospheric experience that fans of the band have come to love. The new video, much like their previous work, is a visual feast that perfectly complements the song's dark and mystical aura.
Hail Darkness has swiftly established themselves as a formidable presence in the doom rock scene, with Death Divine garnering widespread acclaim. Doomed & Stoned praised the album, saying, "I haven’t been as impressed with an album of this kind since Green Lung’s Woodland Rites (2019), which had a similar breathtaking appeal." The Sleeping Shaman echoed this sentiment, stating, "As debut albums go, this is one hell of an entrance into the growing field of doom and occult-based sounds that are currently available, and I’m certain that this will end up on many people’s album of the year lists." Distorted Sound also commended the album, noting, "As far as debuts go, this is a stunning effort from HAIL DARKNESS. It has everything that you could possibly need in a doomy occult rock record. There is a tangible magic to this record that cannot be described in words."
Comprised of ten evocative tracks, Death Divine showcases Hail Darkness's ability to blend elements of occult 70's rock, psychedelia, doom, and folk. The album takes listeners on a dark and magical cosmic journey, with lyrics inspired by vintage occult films and personal experiences.
Founded by bassist Joshua in Phoenix, Hail Darkness began as a homegrown project with Jez on guitar and vocals and Emmet on drums. The trio later relocated to South Carolina, where they spent three years in an intensive recording session that resulted in the powerful and expansive sound captured on Death Divine.
