Get to know Groove Metal band Devilz By Definition!

Devilz By Definition, forged in Windsor, Ontario, is a metal band built on resilience, chaos, and family. What began as an idea in 2009 around Bruce “Popz” Munro grew into a ferocious live unit that cut its teeth in Windsor clubs and released early recordings like Blood Drawn (2011; reissued 2023 as The Lost Days). Jamie “Couv” Couvillon joined the band in 2015 (initially on bass, later swapping roles with Mat “Alien” Dobbin during The Devilution era), and after years of lineup changes and hard-won growth he stepped forward as frontman in late 2023 — learning to scream in days and recording the band’s new era on Under the Road (Dec 25, 2023). The band endured the tragic loss of original guitarist Mat “Alien” Dobbin (Oct 24, 2023) he was not an active member at the time, but still a dear friend, nonetheless. The band and kept pushing, releasing The Bitter Remains of Human Consumption (2021) before completing their most ambitious, 13-track record Devilz Knight (2025). More than a band, Devilz By Definition are family — bound to each other and to their devoted fanbase, the #Devilzfam.
