I want to introduce you to genre excursionists DREAMWAKE who are gearing up to release their new album The Lost Years on 8/8 via UNFD. The Connecticut band dips into the worlds of synthwave, technical metalcore, and rock, bringing the best of all and the feel of a neon glow into their music.
Their latest single “Afterglow” is a snapshot of all these elements coming together alongside a soaring chorus and a saxophone to tie a bow on the track. Watch the “Afterglow” music video here and feel the neon wave wash over you…
About the upcoming album, the band says, “The Lost Years captures the push and pull between who we are and who we’re trying to become. It’s a reflection on the weight of the past, the struggles of the present, and the quiet hope that healing is still possible. It’s for anyone chasing the light while learning to live with their shadows.”
The band has also released another new video/track “Heatwave.”
Emerging from the bustling scene in New Haven, Connecticut, the band formed in 2018 as the result of dissolving previous bands that the members belonged to.
The band takes inspiration from progressive metalcore bands like ERRA, Spiritbox, and Novelists FR and synthwave artists like The Midnight and FM-84, creating a sound all their own that they like to call “wavecore”.
DREAMWAKE has been seen on stages and tours with bands like Miss May I, Polyphia, Vampires Everywhere and will be supporting Thousand Below on their US tour this fall.
Get to know DREAMWAKE’s sound as they combine emotionally-charged metal breakdowns, captivating melodies, technical riffs and even a saxophone to create their own unique sound.
