DO OR DIE is a pioneer of the Belgian hardcore scene that was founded in 1999. Their main influences are the NYHC old-school scene, Hatebreed, Merauder, Sworn Enemy, Throwdown, mixed with more modern, metal-style parts.
The band released their first EP in 2000. This release was followed by non-stop touring in Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg and France. They established their agressive and modern sound signature in the next two full-length albums, ‘Heart Full of Pain’ (2001) and ‘The Meaning of Honor’ (2002), both released through I Scream Records label. These albums were massively defended on stage, with highlights such as Pressure Fest, Graspop Metal Meeting and Fury Fest.
The third full-length ‘Tradition’ was released in 2005 through Alveran Records. This album opened the doors of Germany, and DO OR DIE promoted it across Europe, on stages such as Dour Festival, With Full Force Festival, Pressure Fest. Three other studio albums were released from 2008 up to 2015, with supporting tours in European venues and festivals.
The band took a break but came back in early 2021 with a fresh load of musicians and former members centered around Chris, the remaining founding member, with the goal of making a new generation discover DO OR DIE. They toured Europe again in 2022 and 2023, playing their anthems on the stages of Hellfest, Dour Festival, Alcatraz.
With more than 20 years of shows around the globe and 6 studio albums, DO OR DIE has proven that Belgium can make great hardcore music. After being freshened with a whole new lineup, DO OR DIE has played around Europe and rocked some of the greatest metal festivals like Hellfest, Dour Festival or Alcatraz in 2023.
Now they come back with a blend of tradition and new influences, catchy, straight-to-the-point, brand new hardcore tracks. They plan to tour Europe again in 2025, playing again in main festivals and supporting international bands.
