Philadelphia-based extreme metal outfit DISTANT DOMINION – formed by members of Krieg, Woe, Rumpelstiltskin Grinder, Polterchrist, Mortal Decay, and others – unveils their incinerating debut album, Ripping Through Time, through Fetzner Death Records.
DISTANT DOMINION’s Ripping Through Time debut deploys an incinerating salvo of invigorating metal devastation infused with flourishes of technical flair, powerful classic metal influence, and fragmented melodies that form an alloy that branches beyond their classically inspired death metal core. Recorded by the band, the album was mixed by Mike Bardzik at NoiseyLittleCritter Recordings (The Casualties, Kill Your Idols, The Boils), mastered by Dan Swanö at Unisound (Opeth, Edge Of Sanity, Bloodbath), and completed with artwork by Mike Hrubovcak / Visual Darkness (Mortician, Grave, Sinister).
Guitarist/vocalist Ryan Moll states, “We have transcended the space/time continuum to consolidate what would be centuries worth of work into a matter of just a couple years. We stand proud having sired a perfect formulation of pitch, frequency, pulsation, and atmosphere. Shaking the heavens themselves, this demands to be played at the highest of decibel levels! The astral gates have at last opened to unleash our DISTANT DOMINION!”
DISTANT DOMINION’s Ripping Through Time is now streaming everywhere and available on CD through Fetzner Death Records, at the label webshop HERE and Bandcamp HERE and HERE.
DISTANT DOMINION will support the record with regional performances over the months ahead, having announced a show in Wilmington, Delaware on October 20th. Watch for additional dates to post shortly.
DISTANT DOMINION Live:

The vision of DISTANT DOMINION has been gestating in the dead but dreaming womb of the Philadelphia area metal scene for decades like an unwritten prophecy carried in from the acrid winds risen off the cross-tides of the Schuylkill and Delaware rivers. Beyond their other acts, here the members harness virtuosic composure into a relentless golem of brutality. A perfect storm of technical precision, powerful and complementary songwriting, and more than a collective century of experience. Not only the quintessential metal band of celebrated genre veterans from the area, but they are also the amalgamation of still-standing shrines to the great old ones who have summoned a sonic assault far greater than the sum of its parts.
