Devitalized Usher In A New Era With "Welcome Back"

Massachusetts multi-genre metal outfit Devitalized have solidified themselves as one of the most promising up-and-coming acts in the heavy music scene, which is further cemented with the release of their new single “Welcome Back.”

Coming off the major success that was “GODSLAYER,” their 2023 single featuring deathcore heavyweight Tom Barber of Chelsea Grin, the band are reigniting the flame that burns within them. “Welcome Back” signifies a fresh start for Devitalized, who have turned recent lineup changes into an opportunity to rebrand and showcase their passion for heavy music. From the opening guttural delivery of the title of the track to the bouncy mosh-inducing riffs to the Earth-shattering breakdown that closes it out, “Welcome Back” is an unrelenting fusion of deathcore and hardcore that draws comparison to the likes of Darko US and ten56.

Vocalist John-Paul Ratta explains the trials and tribulations that lead to the current release, “Throughout the past seven months, we encountered significant obstacles, including missed shows, additional work commitments to finance studio sessions, and familial responsibilities. Nevertheless, our unwavering dedication to our artistic vision persisted. Following these challenges, we immersed ourselves in the creative process, culminating in the genesis of the next chapter of Devitalized—an embodiment of our true essence and values. The inception of 'Welcome Back' marked a transformative moment for me, as it symbolized the gradual dissipation of the persistent void within my consciousness. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to my bandmates, our producer, and our devoted listeners, whose support and encouragement have been instrumental in our journey.

“Welcome Back” is the fourth single to be released in anticipation of the band’s debut studio album State of Aggression, which is slated for a May 17th release with an additional four tracks. Previous singles include “GODSLAYER,” “X_X,” and “Deep Cuts.”
