We’re pleased to bring you the latest addition to the M-Theory Audio roster – New Hampshire’s DEATH RATTLE. To begin our relationship the band is pleased to present the first single https://lnk.to/deathrattle and music video “Immersed in the Black” from next year’s full album.
“We could not be more excited on starting this journey with Marco and his team at M-Theory. We shopped ourselves around for a few months and received multiple offers. M-Theory made it clear they had a vision for us as a band and believed in our music. The plan for the release of ‘The Moral Chokehold’ was exactly what we had in mind. Our collaboration together is a perfect marriage between band and label and we feel we will have many successful years together building our presence within the metal world.”
“’Immersed in the Black’ was not the first song written for the album, but definitely is a great primer for the release of ‘The Moral Chokehold.’ There is something special about the way the chorus hits after the brutal verse that makes us love to play it every time. The mixture of post-apocalyptic imagery in the lyrics and the dynamic movement of the guitars make for a memorable listening experience. That, combined with the chaos and fear that the imagery in the video produces, made us really fall in love with everything about ‘Immersed’. We sincerely hope the audience will as well,” states guitarist Ryan Vanderwolk.
“This tune also represents a progression in songwriting style for the band. It combines melodic elements and driving rhythms to create a sound that we hope to carry into the future. In previous writing cycles, we wrote all of our songs in a live setting, within the confines of the band room, using trial and error to piece ideas together,” explains Ryan. “For ‘Immersed’ we used the studio to help compose the song. It helped us to create something that combined the riff ideas into a structure that went beyond the original vision for the song. A break riff became a chorus riff. A chorus riff became a verse riff and the song took on a completely new character. Then, producer Kevin Billingslea [Lamb of God, Trivium], had some great ideas about how to streamline the melodies and the song was born. It was a collaboration from front to back and provided a mold for how we want to write music moving forward. It is appropriate that it is our first single from the album because it embodies the creative spirit of the whole album.”
In addition to the new song being available on all streaming and download digital platforms, “Immersed in Black” also has a high-quality music video to accompany it – which can be seen HERE
“The video concept was something that Jonas Em, our longtime video producer at EmVision Productions, suggested after hearing the song a few times. We have worked with Jonas for over a decade and our relationship with him is such that we trust his vision for our music and are willing to follow his lead when he has an idea,” says Ryan. “He said that the song gave him a feeling of being slowly stalked through the woods and the chaos running through your mind during the chase. We juxtaposed the two different scenes in the video and felt that the imagery really fit the concept of the song beautifully.”
