Death metal band GRAVECRAWLER are set to release new album ‘NIDUS.’ The album is the culmination of their determination to honor the Swedish death metal scene while pulling it down to even darker, heavier depths. The album’s atmosphere is apocalyptic, dangerous and authentic to the core–built on the ethos that extreme metal was never meant to be safe or clean.
GRAVECRAWLER was born in the suburbs of Stockholm, Sweden in 2019. The band released their first demo, "CHAPTER I: ABOMINATIONS,” in 2021. The band wasted little time and released two more demos, “CHAPTER II: BLOOD RITES,” and “CHAPTER III: FALLEN KINGDOMS,” in 2022 and 2023, respectively. That same year they also released “ANTHOLOGY: THE HORRORS UNLEASHED.”
‘NIDUS,’ is an ambitious concept album that chronicles the tales of a dying world, perfectly encapsulating GRAVECRAWLER’s twisted, harrowing vision of extreme metal. The album promises to be a journey that is both creative and suffocating.
Regarding the upcoming release, GRAVECRAWLER states: “Drawing from the raw groove of old-school Swedish Death Metal, the icy bleakness of 90’s Black Metal, and injecting an unapologetic dose of Slam-like grime, we have built a sound that is as unpolished and visceral as it is uncompromising and raw.”
